Industrial Mechanic – Materials Division Portland OR
Porter W. Yett Co. is seeking a skilled and dependable Industrial Mechanic to join our materials division. This position is responsible for maintaining and repairing crusher and asphalt plant equipment to support safe and efficient operations.
Responsibilities
Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain crushing plant, aggregate, and asphalt plant equipment
Perform preventative maintenance on conveyors, crushers, screens, motors, bearings, pumps, and other plant equipment
Diagnose mechanical issues and complete repairs in a timely manner
Weld, fabricate, and replace components as needed
Maintain equipment and work areas in safe operating condition
Work closely with plant operators and supervisors to minimize downtime
Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations
Respond to breakdowns and assist with emergency repairs when needed
Qualifications
Experience working as an industrial mechanic, maintenance mechanic, or heavy equipment mechanic
Knowledge of crushing, aggregate, asphalt plant, or industrial equipment preferred
Welding and fabrication experience preferred
Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in outdoor environments
Reliable transportation and strong attendance record
Valid driver’s license preferred
